Business Overdraft Protection

Keep Your Business Moving When the Unexpected Happens

Even with careful financial management, an unexpected expense or accounting error can sometimes lead to an overdraft. That’s why we offer smart, flexible solutions to help you avoid declined transactions, bounced payments, and unnecessary fees—so you can focus on running your business, not your balance.

How to Reduce Overdrafts

The best way to prevent overdrafts is to monitor your account regularly using online banking, mobile banking, and account alerts. These tools help you stay on top of your business finances anytime, anywhere. But when overdrafts happen, we’ve got options to keep your business running smoothly.

We Offer Additional Ways to Prevent Overdrafts.

Transfer from Savings

Link your business savings account to your checking account for automatic transfers when your balance is low.

  • Covers overdrafts automatically when funds are available
  • Transfers in $25 increments
  • Lower-cost alternative—$10 per transfer (per day, not per item)
  • Best for businesses that maintain a savings cushion.

Sweep Account (Linked Accounts for Overdraft Protection)

Automatically sweep funds from another deposit account to cover overdrafts.

  • Flexible option for businesses with multiple accounts
  • Avoids per-item overdraft fees
  • Transfers occur automatically when needed

Visit a branch or contact us to set up a sweep account.

No Overdraft Protection

If you choose not to enroll in any protection, here’s what happens when you don’t have enough funds:

  • Checks, ACH payments, and bill pay transactions are returned as Non-Sufficient Funds (NSF), and a fee is assessed.
  • Everyday debit card and ATM transactions are declined.

NSF Fees:

  • No fee if the total overdrawn balance is $5 or less.
  • $10 per NSF item for transactions $20 or less.
  • $34 per NSF item for transactions greater than $20.
  • $7 per business day extended overdraft fee after the 5th business day if the account remains overdrawn.
