Whether you’re buying your first home or refinancing your current one, First State Bank makes the process simple and stress-free. Our experienced lenders will help you find the right loan for your needs.

1. Get Started
   • Apply online or in person.
   • Securely submit any necessary documents.
   • If you apply online, a Mortgage Loan Consultant will follow up within 24 hours.
     
     
2. Loan Review Begins
   • We’ll pull your credit report.
   • We'll order:
     • An appraisal (typically takes 6-10 days).
     • Title work (typically takes 3-5 business days)
   • Your Mortgage Processor sends your documents to Underwriting for review.
   • Underwriting reviews your loan within 8 business hours.
     
     
3. Approval & Next Steps
   • Underwriting will determine if your loan is approved.
   • Your processor may request additional info, such as:
     
     • Explanation of large deposits
     • Additional pay stubs
     • Verification of funds
     • Tax returns
     • Clarification on credit inquiries or delinquencies
       
       
4. Final Review
   • Once all documents are ready, Underwriting completes a final review.
   • Preliminary closing documents are sent to you—you’ll have at least three days to review before closing is scheduled.
     
     
5. Closing Day
   • Your closing is scheduled with the title company.
   • Sign the paperwork, get the keys, and move in!
