Building Stronger Communities Together

At First State Bank, we believe that a strong community is built on support, generosity, and shared success. That’s why we’re passionate about giving back—whether it’s helping those in need, supporting arts and culture, or working to improve the environment.

Being community-minded isn’t just something we say—it’s at the heart of everything we do. We invest in our neighbors through business and personal loans, sponsorships, and donations that focus on education and essential services. Plus, our team is always ready to roll up their sleeves and volunteer. Because when our community thrives, we all do.

Taking a Stand Against Human Trafficking: G.H.O.S.T

We’re taking a stand against human trafficking—and we invite you to join us in raising awareness. That’s why we’ve partnered with the Genesee County Sheriff's Office (GCSO) to offer G.H.O.S.T Certification to our team members.

G.H.O.S.T. (Genesee Human Oppression Strike Team) is a law enforcement initiative dedicated to protecting our communities from sexual predators and fighting sex trafficking. Their certification program, now being adopted nationwide, takes a collaborative approach by bringing together law enforcement, community support teams, and medical professionals.

As part of our commitment, we encourage our partners, customers, and neighbors to take advantage of this free training. The more we know, the more we can do to stop this growing crime. Learn more or get G.H.O.S.T certified today.

Support Business

We’ve also partnered with RingTrueCO, makers of ethically made jewelry, to raise awareness and support the employment of trafficking survivors. We’ll be gifting their goods at women’s focused events. Visit their website to learn more about their mission or how to purchase their products.
