April began her career with First State Bank in 1998 as a part-time Teller while attending Oakland University. After earning a B.S. in Human Resources Management, she briefly pursued opportunities outside the Bank, returning in 2001 as a Human Resources Assistant.  April also holds an MSA in Business Administration from Central Michigan University and is a SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP). She actively contributes to several professional HR organizations, including the Michigan Bankers Association Human Resources Committee, HRUnite!, MichBusiness HR group, and the American Society of Employers.

In the community, April serves on the Board of Friends of Foster Kids and is actively involved with 100 Women Who Care – North Macomb and Peace Lutheran Church in Shelby Township. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family, reading, Peloton workouts, golfing, traveling, and indulging in her favorite treat—anything dark chocolate.
